with responsibilities for leading the EHS function for the Drug
Product Division and expanded responsibilities for the Global
Pharma Services Group as well as serving as a back-up to the Vice
President, EHS.Drug Product Division responsibilities (40%)
include:Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) functional leader
for the Drug Products Division.Develop divisional EHS strategy as
well as provide direction, support and guidance to DPD
facilities.Drive achievement of EHS Index and KPI targets as well
as continuous improvement of the EHS program.Drive meaningful
colleague and supervisor engagement.Ensure site compliance with
applicable EH&S regulations as well as Corporate Thermo Fisher
Scientific EH&S policies and Standards.Implement a system of
EHS Governance for the division in alignment with business
priorities and provide support to achieve business goals.Oversee
EHS Risk Management for the Division. Develop and implement the
divisional strategy to understand and reduce EHS risks in the
business.Partner with the DPD Leadership team on strategic
initiatives and operational improvement projects. Engage in
collaborative problem solving and continuous improvement. Escalate
EHS concerns as required and ensure EHS considerations are
integrated into change management.Pharma Services Group - Global
Leader responsibilities (60%) include:Serve as back-up for the
Pharma Services Group - Vice President - EHS as required, back up
includes participating and interacting with Corporate Thermo Fisher
Scientific EHS team, Global Quality Leaders team, and Group
Leadership team to support the business and the EHS program.
Includes providing support and guidance to the global PSG Business
Management, Commercial, Engineering, PPI, Project Management, and
Supply Chain functional groups.Global PSG EHS Management Systems -
Drive positive EHS culture by advancing proven system elements and
methodologies that align with recognized international standards
for EHS management (such as ISO 45001) throughout the PSG
network.Establish Global EHS Communications and Training Strategies
for PSG.Lead the PSG Contractor Management Program.Lead the PSG
Security program which includes liaising with Corporate Thermo
Fisher Scientific Security team.Create and implement an EHS
Supplier Management program.The successful candidate must
have:Education:B.Sc. in Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, EHS, or
related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, training,
and relevant work experience may be considered.Professional
designation in Health & Safety such as Certified Safety
Professional (CSP), CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional),
CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or equivalent is considered an
asset.Experience:15 or more years of previous Health and Safety
experience in and industrial or related environment. 5 years of
pharmaceutical industry experience, and Management
experience.Competencies:Demonstrated success in biosafety,
industrial hygiene and risk management. Experience with
implementation of management systems and auditing programs.
Comfortable knowledge with international environmental, health and
safety legislation.People management experience. Proven ability to
coach and develop staff as well as the technical ability to
coordinate departmental business activities. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to
motivate and lead.Well organized and detail oriented. Excellent
computer and database skills. Excellent presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity,

Language.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Due to the nature of the
work, assignments require light physical effort and fatigue.
Walking, sitting and standing for extended periods.Although
typically located in a comfortable indoor area, site visits may
involve:Exposure to the elements.Exposure to mild physical
discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature
extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights during site
visits.May require climbing ladders and stairs to access various
parts of a facility.Ability to travel between sites via air, car,
